- ➤ Wyoming’s final oil and gas lease sale of 2025 received bids on two of 34 parcels, with nonlocal companies bidding on 80 acres each (in Laramie and Niobrara counties). The BLM awaits federal guidance on re-listing unbid parcels; a next sale is scheduled for March 3. Cowboy State Daily
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rob Creager, executive director of the Wyoming Energy Authority, has been appointed to the National Coal Council by the U.S. Secretary of Energy and will serve for two years to bring Wyoming’s coal industry expertise to national energy discussions. Laramie Live
- ➤ Wyoming Department of Transportation announced two new specialty license plates available Jan. 1. The rodeo plate shows a historic photo of Steamboat to support UW rodeo programs while the search and rescue plate features a winter rescue scene to fund rescue work — both require minimum sales to become permanent. - ➤ Wyoming spent $2.4M to boost hunger relief after a government shutdown left about 26,000 residents without SNAP during the fall. Laramie Boomerang
