  • The City of Laramie and Rocky Mountain Power announced that the popular Freedom has a Birthday event will take place on July 4th from 10am to 4pm. The event will feature live music from the Laramie Municipal Band — two stages, free children’s activities, booths, a food court, and a new arts & crafts area.  County 5

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Riggin Schaffer, an 18-year-old automotive restoration student from Laramie, died on March 23 after driving 30 miles on a school night to help a teen whose car crashed near Centennial—he was struck by another vehicle while assisting the victim.  Cowboy State Daily

  • Plenty Unlimited filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and has put its planned 60,000-square-foot vertical farming lab in Laramie on hold. The company said it will keep its current plant-science research facility in Laramie and its vertical strawberry farm in Virginia as it restructures its business.  Cowboy State Daily

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gasoline prices in Wyoming increased by 2.6 cents per gallon to $3.08 today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 494 stations. Analysts said prices will rise in mid-to-late April — refinery issues and a possible tariff on April 2 may drive pump prices higher.  Laramie Live

  • Wyoming will appeal a February court ruling that found public schools unconstitutionally underfunded, according to a filing last week. State officials will challenge the decision in court to change the education funding system.  Laramie Boomerang
