COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The City of Laramie will host Community Clean-Up Days from April 19th through May 5th to remove windblown litter and refresh green spaces through a partnership with the University of Wyoming’s SLCE department. A free kickoff event will run on April 19th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Laramie Recreation Center—providing locally designed T-shirts, food trucks, and bounce houses for volunteers.  City of Laramie

EDUCATION NEWS

  • University of Wyoming trustees voted to keep President Seidel—forming a committee to look into rising concerns after an engineering dean was demoted—and said the move aims to calm unrest at the university.  Laramie Boomerang

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A new paper shows that two winters ago heavy snowstorms in south-central Wyoming left thousands of pronghorn in the Red Desert without enough food—forcing long walks that led to mass deaths.  Laramie Boomerang

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Columnist Tom Lubnau warns that Wyoming’s public defenders are overworked and under-resourced, which puts fair legal representation at risk. He urges the state to raise salaries and cut caseloads — steps that aim to keep our justice system balanced.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Gov. Mark Gordon said he will delay signing major state agency rules until a majority of legislators back them (SEA 59) and argued that waiting helps prevent quick reversals. The new law will require an economic review for costly rules (effective July) to improve oversight of state agencies.  Cowboy State Daily
