GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A proposal calls for more than doubling the acres required for landowner hunting tags to benefit farmers and ranchers—supporters want to change the rules so that owners must have 160 cultivated acres or 640 contiguous acres and increase the usage days from 2,000 to 3,000. Some smaller property owners fear the change may fragment wildlife habitat, and the proposal will be reviewed at the July meeting.  Cowboy State Daily
