EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Albany County School District 1 board presented a preliminary budget update during a Wednesday work session that calls for staff raises + free meal expansion and operational overhaul for fiscal year 2025-26.  Laramie Boomerang

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Equality State Policy Center filed a lawsuit Friday in the U.S. District Court asking to block a new law — House Bill 156 — that will require voters to show proof of U.S. citizenship and at least 30 days of Wyoming residency. Secretary of State Chuck Gray said he will defend the law as a common-sense measure while critics argue it burdens many eligible voters.  Cowboy State Daily
  • Following Tuesday's meeting, the Laramie City Council approved a plan to upgrade water infrastructure and support long-term growth—aiming to provide a more reliable water system for residents. Officials said the improvements will help meet the needs of a growing community.  Laramie Boomerang
