  • The Laramie Plains Civic Center is updating its historic building with a full LED lighting upgrade—boosted by a $5,000 grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation.  Laramie Boomerang
  • Food Bank Wyoming received 3,000 pounds of emmer wheat grown in Ralston and will distribute it statewide from 19 mobile pantries this summer+ accompanied by recipes and nutritional information to help families in need.  Laramie Live

CRIME NEWS

  • On June 18, a Laramie County Circuit Court judge set a 250000-dollar cash bond for a nineteen year old Cheyenne man charged with second degree murder after a shooting at West Winds Mobile Home Community on June 13 left an eighteen year old dead, and he is set for a hearing on June 27 at 9 a.m.  Laramie Live

ECONOMY NEWS

  • In 2017, Wyoming farms and ranches earned $29.1 million from agritourism while operating on an average of 2,430 acres and leading the nation in wool production. The report showed that 94 percent of farms were family-run with a rising number of young producers—indicating a strong agricultural foundation statewide.  Laramie Live

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rep. Harriet Hageman said a Wilderness Society map that shows nearly 15 million acres of Wyoming public land as being sold is misleading because only small parcels near communities may be sold for housing under a Senate committee bill. She added that the bill would require the Interior and Agriculture secretaries to identify tiny parcels for sale—while lands used for outdoor recreation would remain untouched.  Cowboy State Daily
