ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Kimberly Choma, a 21-year-old equipment manager for the University of Wyoming football team, died Thursday in Star Valley when a lawn mower shifted during her routine maintenance—her death has left the university and local community in mourning.  Cowboy State Daily

  • University of Wyoming named McMillan interim director of the School of Computing starting Aug. 21—he was the academic director and will now lead computing education programs.  Laramie Boomerang

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A Laramie County District Court Judge blocked the initial payouts of the Steamboat Legacy Scholarship Act—meant to offer $7,000 per family for private or homeschooling tuition—in a ruling that pauses the payments until a written order is issued in mid-July. Applications for the program will continue while constitutional issues are reviewed.  Laramie Live
