GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Wyoming Highway Patrol joined an ICE enforcement program after Gov. Mark Gordon announced the new agreement Monday. Troopers will use ICE databases to check immigration status and take proper detention actions while working with local sheriff agencies — five counties have already joined and more are considering participation. - ➤ Harriet Hageman is still deciding whether to run for governor while two candidates have declared their bids and others are waiting for her decision—local leaders like State Sen. Eric Barlow and Secretary of State Chuck Gray have noted that the conservative field could split if too many run. - ➤ Six mosquito samples taken just outside Laramie tested positive for West Nile virus this week based on RAMP tests by City of Laramie Mosquito Control—health officials rate the risk as low.
