ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Vees Fire in Washakie County has grown to 4,500 acres since July 26—road closures have been enacted by the Bureau of Land Management and the local sheriff as firefighters use dozers, helicopters, and engines. Crews are set to receive additional resources while Wyoming braces for a tough wildfire season. Laramie Live
- ➤ Today, firefighters contained 90% of the 67 acres Muddy Fire on State Trust lands thanks to hard work and heavy rain—officials will scale back fire suppression resources as conditions improve. Fire crews will continue monitoring the fire—ensuring safety for Laramie residents. Laramie Live
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis applauded the EPA’s decision to reconsider the 2009 Endangerment Finding, a rule that set limits on greenhouse gas emissions for vehicles and industry—she said it would support energy jobs and resource security. The EPA will conduct a formal review—including a public comment period—before making any changes. Laramie Live
