➤ A federal report by the US Geological Survey finds that after a century of oil production only 3 million barrels of undiscovered oil remain in southwest Wyoming’s Phosphoria Formation while more than 600 billion cubic feet of natural gas is still recoverable. Experts say the formation will continue to yield oil from shallower layers—further research on rare earth minerals is underway. Cowboy State Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

➤ University of Wyoming officials say they are open to selling naming rights for the Arena-Auditorium—known as the Double A—and have not set a price as they evaluate offers to help cover rising athletic costs. They will maintain the name of War Memorial Stadium while discussions continue with multiple entities. Cowboy State Daily
