  • TerraPower’s new nuclear training center in Kemmerer will be finished by the end of 2026—three years before its reactor—and will host global training for Natrium reactors.   • Columnist Gail Symons argued that Wyoming citizens need better civic education to understand how government decisions on school funding and property taxes affect them—she cited local library programs and an online learning hub as ways to empower voters.  Cowboy State Daily

  • Former Air Force pilot Nick Dew now fights Wyoming wildfires using his Air Tractor AT-802A — he has flown on 20 fire missions since May, dropped over 38,000 gallons of retardant, and will continue supporting ground crews into September.  Cowboy State Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • An 18-year-old Burns teen with a rare heart disease donated proceeds from her hog sale to Make-A-Wish Wyoming after hearing stories from other children, raising about $15,000—$20,000 at the Laramie County Fair. She will travel to New Zealand in November and is studying animal science at Fort Scott Community College.  Cowboy State Daily
