- ➤ On the Report to Wyoming podcast, John Kotek—an energy official—said Wyoming will boost its economy by leading in nuclear energy and updating its waste management plans. He said the state will play a key role in powering national energy needs in the coming years. Laramie Live
- ➤ Wyoming passed Texas as the nation’s No. 2 uranium producer with 92,595 pounds produced in the first quarter—mining companies are boosting output amid rising nuclear energy demand. Experts say the state's increased production could soon challenge Utah for the top spot. Cowboy State Daily

- ➤ State Sen. Eric Barlow, who announced his bid for governor on August 12, resigned as chairman of the Senate Labor, Health and Social Services Committee because a 1975 rule requires any committee chair running for statewide office to step down immediately. Senate President Bo Biteman appointed a replacement and reassigned Barlow to the Senate Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs Committee (with further leadership changes following former Sen. - ➤ U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz announced steps to rescind the 2001 Roadless Rule that has kept new roads out of national forests across Wyoming’s high country—opening up for new road construction in areas like the Wyoming Range—and the Forest Service will publish a notice on Friday with a public comment period until Sept. 19, which has raised concern among outdoor groups about impacts on hunting and fishing.
