CULTURE NEWS

  • Jesica Mora, known as the Candy Corn Queen, has set up a huge Halloween display on her Laramie home with giant skeletons, a mummy and a witch named Batty C—she uses smoke machines and neon green cauldrons to spark spooky fun in her neighborhood. Her setup brings back the door-to-door trick-or-treating tradition—helping families enjoy Halloween in a way that feels both new and old.  Cowboy State Daily
  • On Saturday, downtown streets in Laramie hosted the annual Scaramie celebration where costumed superheroes and wild animals appeared—drawing a large crowd—and adding a unique local flair.  Laramie Boomerang

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Timothy Mellon is a reclusive billionaire who left Connecticut for Wyoming because it is peaceful and has lower taxes; he donated $130 million to help pay military salaries during the federal shutdown. His donation—about $100 per active-duty service member—is part of a pattern of local investments that includes giving nearby ranch land to boost agricultural research.  Cowboy State Daily

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Wyoming’s housing market grew by 4.6% over the past year, raising the average home value to $360,352 and recording significant gains in regions like Wilson and Casper where high demand and low inventory drove up prices—making it the nation’s top market performer. Experts expect home prices to increase by 3 to 4% by year-end as new economic investments and incoming residents continue to shape local trends.  Laramie Live

SPORTS NEWS

  • At the 117th Border War game on Oct. 25 at War Memorial Stadium, the president recorded a 48-second message praising Wyoming's coal industry and wishing luck to the Cowboys after Sen.
