- ➤ The Laramie Animal Welfare Society announced a fundraiser to build its new rescue facility, Almost Home: Our Future Home, that will host cage-free cat rooms+dog kennels, a pet pantry, and meeting space. Local residents can share ideas via a community survey. County 5
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ EPA will begin removal of arsenic dust from the old metals plant 2.5 miles south next spring—officials say power washers and filtration will clean the site, and new hazard signs will be added to keep youths away. Cowboy State Daily
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area will open for winter Friday as local skiers and snowboarders are expected to begin lining up at the chairlift for the new season. Laramie Boomerang
