- ➤ Dick Nelson began working on the railroad at age 12 and spent 45 years witnessing Wyoming’s early frontier life, including shootouts and rail milestones, his handwritten accounts now preserved by descendant Drew Hester on family land near Newcastle. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Centers for Medicare + Medicaid Services announced Monday that Wyoming received over $205M in federal funding for rural health. Officials said the funds will strengthen medical services in rural areas and help meet the needs of underserved communities. Laramie Boomerang
- ➤ On Monday, federal officials approved $205 million to start Bear Care, Wyoming’s rural health plan, using seed funds to build a self-sustaining risk pool that will support hospital viability and expand emergency and primary care in rural communities (final details will be set in coming months).
